Baseball Recap: Seminole County Takes Down Georgia School for Innovation & Classics in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Seminole County rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They didn't even let the Georgia School for Innovation & Classics Patriots on the board, marking their second-straight 4-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won four games in a row.

Not much got past John Walker, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Georgia School for Innovation & Classics off the board. Walker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brayden Hodges was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Reed Phillips, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Seminole County pushed their record up to 20-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Georgia School for Innovation & Classics, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-11.

Seminole County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
