Baseball Recap: Tri-County Sets Scoring Season-High Against North White

Tri-County never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the North White Vikings as they made off with a 13-0 victory. The Cavaliers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ian Houser looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Nick Foster and Vance Tyler did most of the damage at the plate: Foster went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run, while Tyler went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four RBI gave Foster a new career-high. Luke Arvin was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Tri-County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Tri-County and bumps their season record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for North White, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Tri-County will head out to take on South Newton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavaliers are facing the Rebels at the right time seeing as the Rebels are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for North White, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
