Volleyball Recap: Calhoun County Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Calhoun County can bid farewell to their seven-match losing streak thanks to their match on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

Calhoun County never let Ridge Spring-Monetta on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-17.

Calhoun County was led to victory by Ella Mina and Cassidy Pough. Mina had 12 digs and two aces, while Pough had 23 kills, 12 digs, four blocks, and two aces. That's the most kills Pough has posted since back in September.

Calhoun County's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Calhoun County will venture away from home to face off against C.A. Johnson at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Ridge Spring-Monetta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
