Baseball Game Preview: Spencerport Rangers vs. Irondequoit Eagles

Spencerport is 2-7 against Irondequoit since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Rangers will face off against the Eagles at 12:00 p.m.

Spencerport is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Penfield.

Spencerport saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Distaffen, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Irondequoit ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Spencerport 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Max Spitz made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Spitz was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Bryan, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Spencerport's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Irondequoit, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
