Madison snaps three-game streak of losses at home

Recap: Madison Patriots vs. Mitchell Mountaineers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Henderson, the Madison Patriots were happy to have found some success on Friday. They secured a 69-64 W over Mitchell. With that victory, Madison brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
Madison found their leader in underclassman Gavin Gault, who scored 25 points. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jason Eighmey, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Madison's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Mitchell, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hiwassee Dam at 12:30 p.m. on December 27th. Hiwassee Dam is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Mitchell, they will head out on the road to face off against Owen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Owen is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
