Softball Recap: Montgomery Gets the Win

While Montgomery's win against Healdsburg wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Greyhounds 10-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Siena Quattrocchi and Lily Lorenz did most of the damage at the plate: Quattrocchi went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Lorenz went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits Quattrocchi has posted since back in April. Kalee Murray was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Montgomery hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Healdsburg struck out nine times.

Montgomery's record now sits at 13-11. As for Healdsburg, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-11.

Coming up, Montgomery will head out to face off against Ukiah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season. Healdsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
