Basketball Game Preview: St. Charles Cardinals vs. St. Francis DeSales Stallions

The St. Charles Cardinals will venture away from home to challenge the St. Francis DeSales Stallions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Charles will be strutting in after a victory while St. Francis DeSales will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, St. Charles didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Canal Winchester, but they still walked away with a 49-43 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, St. Francis DeSales suffered their closest defeat since January 19, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lincoln by a score of 56-53. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Stallions came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Lions are ranked 311th).

St. Charles' victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-5. As for St. Francis DeSales, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

St. Charles suffered a grim 59-36 defeat to St. Francis DeSales in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can St. Charles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
