Softball Game Preview: Farmington River Hawks vs. Lewis Mills Spartans

The Farmington River Hawks will square off against the Lewis Mills Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Friday just wasn't the day for Farmington's offense. They lost 14-0 to O'Brien RVT on Friday. The River Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Lewis Mills also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Bristol Eastern on Friday, falling 6-0. The Spartans just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Eliza Criss spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Lewis Mills' loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Farmington, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
