Basketball Game Preview: Crane Cranes vs. Lake View Chiefs

The Crane Cranes will take on the Lake View Chiefs in a tournament on Thursday.

Crane is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Coahoma on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Crane might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Coahoma an easy 75-52 victory. The Cranes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-20.

Meanwhile, Lake View can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game two weeks ago. They came out on top against Brownwood by a score of 68-55.

Crane better keep an eye on Braylon White. He was instrumental in Lake View's win, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds White has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Joseph Delgado, who posted 16 points.

Lake View's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Crane, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Crane suffered a grim 71-46 defeat to Lake View in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Crane avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
