If Chinle was riding high fresh off their 11-2 takedown of Payson last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats fell just short of the Combs Coyotes by a score of 6-5 on Friday. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Chinle saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hage Tsosie, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Tsosie is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another was Covington Jones, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Chinle's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Combs, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 4-11-1 record.

Chinle didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-0 win against Alchesay on the 12th. As for Combs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-5 loss against Westview on the 12th.
