Basketball Game Preview: Canyon Hills Rattlers vs. Madison Warhawks

The Canyon Hills Rattlers will take on the Madison Warhawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Canyon Hills took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took down Point Loma 66-51. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Rattlers 's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 741st, while the Pointers are ranked 308th).

Meanwhile, Madison came up short against Coronado on Tuesday and fell 65-57.

Canyon Hills will need focus on slowing down Adein Lea?E, one of several Madison players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6 for 8 on his way to 15 points and seven boards. Those 15 points gave Lea?E a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Stevens, who went 5 of 10 en route to 11 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

Madison's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 17-8. As for Canyon Hills, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 10-14.

Canyon Hills was taken down by Madison 71-34 when the teams last played back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Canyon Hills was down 39-14.
