Basketball Recap: Alissa Bryant Key Part of Team Effort in Cougars Win

Cypress Creek won the last time they faced Fort Bend Travis and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cougars walked away with a 52-39 victory over the Tigers. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by exactly 13 points.

Cypress Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alissa Bryant led the charge by putting up 22 points and five steals. With that strong performance, Bryant is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. Aubrey Hampton was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Despite the loss, Fort Bend Travis still got an impressive performance from Mackenzie Teuton, who posted nine points and six assists. Teuton has also also been stellar as far as three-point shooting accuracy is concerned: she's posted one of at least 43% every time she's hit the court this season. Fayrouz Tahir also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Cypress Creek and bumps their season record up to 6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. As for Fort Bend Travis, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Cypress Creek has already played their next game, a 91-27 win against New Caney on the 18th. As for Fort Bend Travis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 58-33 victory against Tomas on the 18th.
