Football Recap: Litchfield/Mt. Olive Comes Up Short

Litchfield/Mt. Olive extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Friday, dropping them down to 0-7. They took a hard 35-21 fall against the Hillsboro Hiltoppers. Litchfield/Mt. Olive was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hillsboro apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Ethan Saathoff threw for 220 yards on only 19 passes. Matthew Bywater was his top target, picking up 127 receiving yards.

As for Hillsboro, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.7 points over those games.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Amony Anderson and Tytin Wells. Anderson rushed for 208 yards and one TD while picking up 9.0 yards per carry while Wells rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns. Anderson's longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards.

Litchfield/Mt. Olive didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 63-21 defeat against Pana on the 17th. As for Hillsboro, they have also already played their next matchup, a 35-27 loss against Carlinville on the 17th.
