Softball Game Preview: Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders vs. Bethlehem Catholic Hawks

Notre Dame-Green Pond is 0-6 against Bethlehem Catholic since May of 2015 but things could change on Monday. Notre Dame-Green Pond will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Bethlehem Catholic at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

On Friday, Notre Dame-Green Pond got the win against Lehighton by a conclusive 28-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Addison Ryan was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Natalie Lilly, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Bethlehem Catholic never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against William Allen last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Canaries with a sharp 18-2 win. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Canaries recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Angela Hodge and Morgan Ostrosky did most of the damage at the plate: Hodge scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2, while Ostrosky scored a run while going 1-for-1. Sarah Banko was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Bethlehem Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as William Allen only posted an OBP of .438.

Notre Dame-Green Pond's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Bethlehem Catholic, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Notre Dame-Green Pond couldn't quite get it done against Bethlehem Catholic in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-3.
