Baseball Recap: Cheney Takes a Loss

Cheney lost against Gonzaga Prep last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blackhawks fell 5-2 to the Bullpups. The Blackhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cheney saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcus Belarde, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another was Dawes Hanson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Cheney's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Gonzaga Prep, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cheney is set to square off against their familiar foe Lewis & Clark at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Gonzaga Prep will face off against rival Ferris at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
