It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Churchill County can now relate to. They fell just short of the Boulder City Eagles by a score of 9-8 on Thursday. The Greenwave's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Churchill County got a good showing from Mason Storm, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Storm has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chase Carnahan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Gonzales, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

Churchill County's loss dropped their record down to 21-9-1. As for Boulder City, their victory bumped their record up to 21-14.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Churchill County will take on The Meadows School at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Boulder City, they will face off against Truckee at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
