Softball Recap: Tarkington Takes a Loss

Tarkington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 16-1 to Hamshire-Fannett. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Hamshire-Fannett this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 back in March.

Tarkington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Oakley Blackburn, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Blackburn's first of the season. Another was Savannah West, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Tarkington's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Hamshire-Fannett, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-15-2.

Coincidentally, Tarkington and Hamshire-Fannett will both be playing Liberty the next time they take the field. Tarkington will host Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Hamshire-Fannett will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
