Football Game Preview: Fort Collins Lambkins vs. ThunderRidge Grizzlies + Official Tickets

The Fort Collins Lambkins will challenge the ThunderRidge Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Fort Collins' favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.

Fort Collins is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Prairie View: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Lambkins blew the Thunderhawks out of the water with a 48-0 final score. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Lambkins' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Thunderhawks are ranked 150th).

Fort Collins had a senior duo take command as Jack McKeon rushed for 140 yards and two TDs on only nine carries and Justin Cranford threw for 147 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. McKeon's longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Fort Collins also got help from Kyrei Kincaid, who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.

Fort Collins was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 219 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, ThunderRidge came up short against Fruita Monument on Friday and fell 34-26. The Grizzlies were right on the edge of victory: they outscored the Wildcats in the fourth quarter 14-6.

Fort Collins will need to focus on slowing down Dillon Gaynor, one of several ThunderRidge players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 157 receiving yards and one score. Caeden Reeder was another key player, throwing for 293 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt.

Fort Collins has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.5 points over those games. As for ThunderRidge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
