Indian Creek won the last time they faced Martinsville and things went their way on Friday too. The Braves narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Artesians 4-2. The game was the first time the Braves have beaten the Artesians on their field since March 30, 2018.

Colt DeHart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Indian Creek's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Harden, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Mason Woodke, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Indian Creek's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-7. As for Martinsville, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Coming up, Indian Creek will venture away from home to take on North Putnam at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Martinsville, they will host Bedford North Lawrence at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Stars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Artesians' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
