Basketball Recap: Elysian Fields Comes Up Short

Elysian Fields made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Beckville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 27-25 on Friday. The contest marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Beckville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landrie Dennard led the charge by putting up 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Dennard has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times she's played. Adyson Davis was another key player, posting five points in addition to 17 rebounds and three steals.

Elysian Fields has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for Beckville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-9.
