Basketball Recap: West Port Wolf Pack vs. Lake Weir Hurricanes
West Port lost against Lake Weir back in November and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Port Wolf Pack were dealt a 65-30 defeat at the hands of the Lake Weir Hurricanes. While losing is never fun, the Wolf Pack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 688th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 262nd).
Lake Weir got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Amar Young out in front who went 5 for 11 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds. John Smith was another key player, going 7 of 12 on his way to 15 points.
West Port's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Lake Weir, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
