Football Game Preview: Out-of-Door Academy Thunder vs. Seffner Christian Crusaders

Two dominant backs in Allen Clark and Keion Moore are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Out-of-Door Academy Thunder will face off against the Seffner Christian Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Out-of-Door Academy nor Seffner Christian posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Out-of-Door Academy is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against St. Petersburg Catholic two weeks ago (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Thunder were beaten by the Barons 49-6. The game marked the Thunder's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Seffner Christian suffered their biggest defeat since October 18, 2024 on Friday. They had to suffer through a 49-7 loss at the hands of St. Petersburg Catholic. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Barons are ranked 54th).

Seffner Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Out-of-Door Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Out-of-Door Academy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 192.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Seffner Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 195.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Out-of-Door Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Seffner Christian when the teams last played on October 10th, winning 19-7. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Crusaders' Kenyarda Davis, who rushed for 94 yards and one TD.
