Baseball Recap: Tuscola Gets the Win

Tuscola was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 13-9 victory over the South Point Red Raiders.

Kolt Nelson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Nelson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Evan Conner was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Riley Shuler, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

The win got Tuscola back to even at 1-1. As for South Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Tuscola will host A.C. Reynolds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Point, they will head out to take on Cherryville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
