Basketball Recap: Happy Camp Comes Up Short

Happy Camp lost against Surprise Valley back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Happy Camp Indians took a hard 43-27 fall against the Surprise Valley Hornets. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Happy Camp still got an impressive performance from Isabelle Snapp, who posted ten points and five rebounds. Snapp is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mary McAbier, who had a point and 12 boards.

Surprise Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adelia Martinez, who scored 11 points. Martinez continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Olivia Martinez was another key player, putting up eight points.

Happy Camp's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Surprise Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season.

Happy Camp has already played their next game, a 1-0 defeat against Tulelake on the 11th. As for Surprise Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 41-37 victory against Hayfork on the 3rd.
