Football Game Preview: Weaver Beavers vs. ATI [Abbott RVT/Immaculate]

Weaver has won three straight games at home, while ATI [Abbott RVT/Immaculate] has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Beavers will host ATI [Abbott RVT/Immaculate] at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

ATI [Abbott RVT/Immaculate] will take on a Beavers team in a cheerful holiday mood after the team's game against Capital Prep/Achievement First on Thanksgiving. Weaver claimed a resounding 35-6 victory over the Trailblazers. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Beavers had established a 27-point advantage.

Weaver found their leader in freshman Kadain Claflin-Coy, who threw for 200 yards and four TDs on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 70 yards and one touchdown on only six carries. The Beavers' leading receiver Jyiere Perry was Claflin-Coy's top target yet again, picking up 60 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, ATI [Abbott RVT/Immaculate] made easy work of Bullard-Havens on Tuesday and carried off a 31-6 win.

Weaver better keep an eye on Hunter Von Minden. He was instrumental in ATI [Abbott RVT/Immaculate]'s win, throwing for 175 yards and four touchdowns. That's the most passing touchdowns Von Minden has posted since back in September of 2024.

One reason for the win was ATI [Abbott RVT/Immaculate]'s imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Omari Morgan refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself.

Weaver's record is now 8-2. As for ATI [Abbott RVT/Immaculate], their record now sits at an identical 8-2.

Tuesday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Weaver has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 158.2 rushing yards per game.
