Baseball Recap: Allen Takes a Loss

Allen lost against Lovejoy back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Allen Eagles fell 7-2 to the Lovejoy Leopards. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Allen saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Austin, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Preston Harrison also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Allen's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Lovejoy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Allen and Lovejoy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Allen (ranked 243rd) will meet Coppell (ranked 783rd) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Allen's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Lovejoy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Meanwhile, Lovejoy will take on Anna at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday up 544 places (217 vs. 761).
