Basketball Recap: Kentwood Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Kentwood entered their matchup against Auburn on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Kentwood Conquerors took a 75-57 bruising from the Auburn Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Conquerors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Trojans are ranked fifth).

Kentwood's defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-4. As for Auburn, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kentwood will face off against Tahoma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tahoma knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Kentwood likes a good challenge. As for Auburn, they will square off against Mt. Rainier at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Auburn's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
