Basketball Recap: Aaron Lewis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Notre Dame over San Jacinto

Notre Dame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the San Jacinto Tigers. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Notre Dame's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Lewis, who posted 18 points and five rebounds. Lewis continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Jaxon Coduti was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 13 boards.

Notre Dame's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for San Jacinto, they moved to 3-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Notre Dame didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-58 victory against Arlington on the 5th. As for San Jacinto, they have also already played their next matchup, a 78-65 defeat against Orange Vista on the 5th.
