Basketball Game Preview: Berne Union Rockets vs. Wellington School Jaguars

The Berne Union Rockets will venture away from home to take on the Wellington School Jaguars at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Berne Union turned things around against Miller on Wednesday. They pulled ahead with a 34-33 photo finish over the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Wellington School was able to grind out a solid win over Dunbar on Monday, taking the game 49-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

Berne Union better focus on containing Dea Singh and Elodie Ware as the pair were huge in Wellington School's win. Singh shot 7-for-9 from long range and dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds, while Ware went 8 of 16 on her way to 21 points along with six boards and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Singh a new career-high in boards.

Berne Union's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-5. As for Wellington School, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Berne Union was taken down by Wellington School 50-15 when the teams last played back in February. Can Berne Union avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
