Volleyball Recap: Walker Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Walker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Springfield Bulldogs. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Walker wouldn't go down easily and took Springfield into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, 22-25, 12-25, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Walker still got an impressive performance from Lily Vetter, who had 32 digs and five aces. Vetter has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Gateley, who had 14 assists and seven digs.

Walker's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Springfield, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

Walker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Berwick on the 20th. As for Springfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Amite on the 16th.
