Basketball Game Preview: Buena Vista Bison vs. Westview Wolverines

Buena Vista hasn't had much luck against Westview recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Buena Vista Bison will challenge the Westview Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Buena Vista sitting on three straight wins and Westview on seven.

On Tuesday, Buena Vista was able to grind out a solid victory over Bellevue East, taking the game 63-52.

LC Doss was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 15 on his way to 29 points in addition to six assists and five boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Buena Vista's points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Jarmon, who posted 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Meanwhile, Westview faced Papillion-LaVista South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Westview walked away with a 68-61 win over Papillion-LaVista South.

Westview pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Buena Vista, they are also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Buena Vista took a serious blow against Westview in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 91-47. Can Buena Vista avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
