Basketball Recap: Rampart Rams vs. Vista Ridge Wolves
The Rampart Rams had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Vista Ridge 69-55 on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Rampart's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Wyatt Kirch, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Deangelo Smith, who scored 17 points.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Avance, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Quentin Maldonado, who scored 13 points.
Rampart's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Vista Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Rampart will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Vista Ridge is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for they, they will head out on the road to challenge Rampart at 2:00 p.m. Hopefully Rampart focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.
