Tompkins and Cinco Ranch are an even 3-3-4 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. The Falcons will square off against the Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tompkins has four straight victories, Cinco Ranch has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Tompkins barely beat Morton Ranch the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons never let the Mavericks get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Tuesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Tompkins' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Morton Ranch are ranked 625th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Cinco Ranch took on Paetow on Tuesday. The Cougars fell 3-1 to the Panthers. That's two games in a row now that Cinco Ranch have lost by exactly two goals.

Their goal came courtesy of Aaron Torres, which was the first he's scored this season.

Tompkins' victory bumped their record up to 9-5-3. As for Cinco Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10-2.

Tompkins beat Cinco Ranch by a goal in their previous matchup back in January, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
