Volleyball Recap: El Capitan Finds Playoff Glory Versus Southwest SD

With a playoff win on the line, El Capitan rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Southwest SD Raiders by a score of 3-1. The victory was nothing new for the Vaqueros as they're now sitting on four straight.

The win didn't come easy: Southwest SD scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 17-25, 25-22, 25-18.

Jacob Marquez paced El Capitan's offense, picking up 20 kills. Marquez got some help from Neil Perkins and his 20 assists. Perkins also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Nicholas Patterson, racking up two apiece.

El Capitan pushed their record up to 22-13 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Southwest SD, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-12.

Looking ahead, El Capitan will head out to challenge San Pasqual at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Vaqueros surely won't give up without a fight. Southwest SD does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
