Soccer Game Preview: Fenton vs. Leyden

The Fenton Bison will venture away from home to challenge the Leyden Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Fenton's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Fenton fell victim to Addison Trail and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Blazers, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Fenton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Addison Trail are ranked 92nd).

Meanwhile, Leyden kept a clean sheet against Ridgewood on Thursday. They came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 2-0. The victory continues a trend for Leyden in their matchups with Ridgewood: they've now won four in a row.

Kim Pazos and Makayla Hernandez scored both of Leyden's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Fenton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Leyden, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
