Basketball Recap: Savannah Takes a Loss

Savannah was the 71-62 winner over South Effingham when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Bluejackets took a 53-38 bruising from the Mustangs on Monday. The Bluejackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Benja Crofts was a one-man wrecking crew For South Effingham. as he dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Those 14 points gave Crofts a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Hall, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Savannah's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for South Effingham, they moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Savannah wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-69 win against Groves on the 25th. As for South Effingham, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-49 defeat against Beach on the 25th.
