Hastings has gone a perfect 10-0 against Gering recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Tigers will head out to face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Hastings hasn't scored more than 13 points for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

While Hastings' win against Lexington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers pulled ahead with a 13-12 photo finish over the Minutemen on Friday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Minutemen recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Gering hadn't done well against Chadron recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bulldogs won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Cardinals 21-20.

Hastings better keep an eye on Rece Knight. He was instrumental in Gering's win, throwing for 143 yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 45 yards and one touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Gering's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Bodie Kumm: he made 15 total tackles and defended one pass.

Hastings' win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Gering, their record is now 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Hastings against Gering in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 41-14 victory. In that contest, the Tigers amassed a halftime lead of 34-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
