Volleyball Recap: Wellington Takes a Loss

Wellington lost against Martin County back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wolverines fell 3-1 to the Tigers. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-13, 18-25, 25-16, 25-13.

Julianna Nunes paced Wellington's offense, picking up ten kills. Nunes got some help from Faith DiMaria and her 23 assists. DiMaria was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Wellington's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Martin County, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Wellington will venture away from home to challenge Dreyfoos School of the Arts at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. After both having extra time off, Martin County and South Fork will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
