Softball Game Preview: Ridgefield Park Scarlets vs. Ramsey Rams

Ridgefield Park is 0-6 against Ramsey since April of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Scarlets will be playing at home against the Rams at 4:15 p.m. Ridgefield Park will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Ridgefield Park is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over Cliffside Park on Wednesday. The Scarlets haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Riley Fucci spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Karylle Culala was a standout: she went 3-for-6 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Rivera, who went 3-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Ramsey beat Indian Hills 7-2 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Ridgefield Park's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average this season. As for Ramsey, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
