Soccer Game Preview: Carmel vs. Joliet Catholic

The Carmel Corsairs will head out to challenge the Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Carmel came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 4-0 to Libertyville. Carmel's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Joliet Catholic kept a clean sheet against Coal City two weeks ago. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Coalers. The victory was some much needed relief for Joliet Catholic as it spelled an end to their five-match losing streak.

Jazani Gonzalez and Ava Giarrante scored both of Joliet Catholic's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Joliet Catholic's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Carmel, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Everything went Carmel's way against Joliet Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Carmel made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Corsairs since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
