The Osceola Kowboys are taking a road trip to challenge the Lakewood Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Osceola's defense has only allowed 13.3 points per game this season, so Lakewood's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Osceola is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Lake Wales just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 35-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highlanders. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Kowboys, who until this contest were averaging 13.33 points allowed.
Despite the loss, Osceola had strong showings from Alijah Jenkins, who gained 147 total yards and a touchdown, and Jeffrey Sinophat, who rushed for 122 yards and one score.

Even if they lost, Osceola's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Amier Clarke with two. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last four games he's played. Nathaniel Barnett was another major factor on D, making nine total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Lakewood got themselves on the board against Gibbs last Friday, but Gibbs never followed suit. They took their game with ease, bagging a 28-0 win over the Gladiators. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Gladiators recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Osceola better keep an eye on Khalan Davis. He was instrumental in Lakewood's win, rushing for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Davis was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Amir Smith helped out on the ground, rushing for 108 yards.
Lakewood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 303 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August.
Osceola's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Lakewood, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Osceola has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 226.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lakewood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 211.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Osceola didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lakewood in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 28-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Kowboys since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
