Basketball Recap: New Roads Comes Up Short

New Roads was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lennox Academy Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 47-44 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

New Roads' loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Lennox Academy, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.

New Roads will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hawthorne Math & Science Academy on January 10, 2025. As for Lennox Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Harbor Teacher at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
