Memorial has gone 9-1 against Independence recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Memorial Warriors will look to defend their home court against the Independence Knights at 7:15 p.m. One thing working in Memorial's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 games.

Memorial will face Independence after dropping another heartbreaker against Heritage on Tuesday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 3.1 of beating them. Memorial was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 63-62 to Heritage. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (61), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Independence ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against Emerson by a score of 76-69. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 369th, while the Mavericks are ranked 173rd).

Independence pushed their record up to 14-13 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Memorial, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-8.

Memorial skirted past Independence 55-52 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Does Memorial have another victory up their sleeve, or will Independence turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
