Volleyball Recap: Calexico Mission Takes a Loss

Calexico Mission was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 30th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Mountain Empire Redhawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Redhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in February.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 25-12.

Oscar Plasencia was nothing short of spectacular for Mountain Empire: he had six aces and five digs. Those six aces gave Plasencia a new career-high.

Calexico Mission's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Mountain Empire, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

After both having extra time off, Calexico Mission and Brawley will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain Empire, they will square off against School for Entrepreneurship & Technology at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
