Football Game Preview: Waldron Mohawks vs. Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers

The Waldron Mohawks will head out on the road to take on the Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Waldron is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Waldron played against Rock Creek Academy two weeks ago and won via forfeit.

Indiana School for the Deaf is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Dugger Union, who was ranked third at the time (Indiana School for the Deaf was ranked fourth). The Deaf Hoosiers took a blow against the Bulldogs on Saturday, falling 66-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Deaf Hoosiers have suffered since September 21, 2024.

Waldron will have to contain Matthew Saaty as he made an impact in Indiana School for the Deaf's last game. He rushed for 105 yards and two TDs on only 11 carries, and also picked up 99 receiving yards and one score.

Waldron's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3.

Everything came up roses for Waldron against Indiana School for the Deaf when the teams last played back in August of 2024, as the squad secured a 47-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mohawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
