Football Recap: Mater Dei Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Mater Dei was riding high fresh off their 65-39 takedown of St. Teresa last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights were dealt a 52-14 loss at the hands of the Mt. Zion Braves on Friday. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-7.

Although Mater Dei took the loss, they still got scores from Bodie Brockmeier and Bentley Nicklin.

Keller Stocks was his usual excellent self, throwing for 285 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 31 yards for Mt. Zion. JC Anderson did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 33 receiving yards.

Mater Dei's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Mt. Zion, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Mater Dei does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mt. Zion, they will face off against Waterloo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Braves' defense better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 31.4 points per game this season.
