Football Recap: North Putnam Skates Past Crawfordsville with Ease

After only six points in their last contest, North Putnam made sure to put some points up on the board against Crawfordsville on Friday. The Cougars really took it to the Athenians for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-23 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 26-point advantage.

Christian Kramer produced another solid performance rushing for 266 yards and five scores while picking up 15.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 219 yards and one touchdown while completing 80% of his passes. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in August of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Putnam was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 405 rushing yards. They rushed for 140 more rushing yards than Crawfordsville's also-impressive total of 265.

North Putnam's defense stepped up as well, laying out Mason McCarty. four times. Beckett Braeger was especially locked on to Crawfordsville's QB and sacked him twice.

Crawfordsville's loss came despite strong showings from Maddox Ronco and McCarty. Ronco rushed for 134 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries, while McCarty rushed for 108 yards and one score. Ronco's longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

The victory got North Putnam back to even at 2-2. As for Crawfordsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 2-2.
