Basketball Recap: Providence Piles Up the Points Against Clarksville

Providence entered their tilt with Clarksville on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 58-19 victory over the Clarksville Generals. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Generals are ranked 355th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Clarksville still got an impressive performance from Ray McClendon, who posted 12 points. McClendon also posted a block, marking his first of the season.

Providence's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Clarksville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence will face off against Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Providence has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Clarksville has already played their next matchup (against South Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
