Volleyball Recap: Dixie Flyers vs. Desert Hills Thunder

Dixie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Desert Hills Thunder. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunder this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-13, 25-14.

Dixie's offense was headlined by Austin Izatt and Fernando Cruz, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Jack Burnett and his five assists. Finally, Carter Anderson kept Dixie's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Dixie's defeat dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Desert Hills, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Dixie is set to challenge their familiar foe Cedar at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Desert Hills will face off against rival Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
