Basketball Game Preview: Emmanuel Christian Crusaders vs. Florence Christian Eagles

The Emmanuel Christian Crusaders will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Florence Christian Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Emmanuel Christian is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They lost 35-13 to Governor's School for Science & Math on Tuesday. The Crusaders were down 27-6 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

The losing side was boosted by Ciara Dibble, who posted five points and five steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Aubrey Hoffman was another key player, putting up five points.

Meanwhile, Florence Christian narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Dorchester Academy 38-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Emmanuel Christian was dealt a bruising 62-30 loss at the hands of Florence Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2017. Thankfully for the Crusaders, Zoe Cauthen (who shot 67% from the field to rack up 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time.
